Plastic surgery in Colombia: prices, and how to check the surgeon
Medellin's reputation for cosmetic surgery cuts both ways. The city genuinely has excellent board-certified surgeons operating in accredited facilities — and it also has the region's largest supply of operators who are neither. The price list is the easy part of this decision.
Published starting prices run from $3,500 USD across the specialty: liposuction and Lipo 360 from about $3,500, a tummy tuck from about $4,000, breast augmentation from about $3,500, rhinoplasty from about $4,000, a BBL from about $3,800 and a combined mommy makeover from about $6,500 — against U.S. figures roughly two to three times higher in each case.
The one check that matters most
In Colombia the relevant credential is membership of the Sociedad Colombiana de Cirugia Plastica (SCCP), and it is verifiable in a public register. A licensed general physician may hold a valid medical licence and still not be a plastic surgeon. Before anything else, get the surgeon's full name, look them up, and confirm the procedure will happen in an accredited operating room with an anaesthetist present — not in a clinic suite.
Combined procedures and the fat-transfer question
Combining operations saves money and one recovery, but it lengthens time under anaesthesia, and that is where risk accumulates. Gluteal fat transfer in particular has a documented safety history that depends entirely on technique and on the surgeon's discipline about injection plane. Read the safety material before the price list, and be sceptical of any quote that treats a long combined case as routine.

Non-surgical: injectables and skin
Not everything needs an operating room. Botulinum toxin is published from about $180 per area, hyaluronic acid fillers from about $320 per syringe and collagen biostimulators such as Sculptra or Radiesse from $450 per vial — all of which should be injected by a licensed physician, which is a question worth asking explicitly. Which brand and which product reference is a separate conversation — the brands differ more than the marketing suggests — and so is what a full course actually costs, whether that is filler by the syringe, Sculptra by the vial or a lip treatment.

A recovery house is not a luxury in this category — after abdominal or combined surgery you need supervised drainage care, lymphatic massage and someone present. Budget for it from the beginning; the coordination service arranges it, and so do most reputable surgeons.
